The Ballet Twins are a set of two towers facing the Ballet Twins Road. They are currently engulfed by the Ballet Twins Hollow.
History[]
The Ballet Twins were initially constructed before the fall of the Old Capital by the "Ballet Group", consisting of the brothers Bolt and Unknown, as part of their wish to build the tallest building in all of Eridu. After the towers' construction, the Ballet Twins became one of the most popular business hubs[1], while also being a testament to the Ballet Group's wealth[2].
Due to vast amounts of wealth that accumulated within the Ballet Twins, it also became a hotspot for art exhibits, with famous paintings such as "Gentleman With a Bangboo" and "Ballet Brothers on Ethereal's Back" by Kinston Bird being displayed there[3], alongside many artworks and sculptures of Bangboo, such as "The Bangboo Weirdo" by WeirdBoo[4].
The Ballet Twins also featured a large stage with regular theatricals put on show there, notably ballets from Rhodes' granddaughters, the Nette sisters Augilia and Augetta.
After the fall of the Old Capital, the Ballet Group suffered severe financial losses and eventually became bankrupt, with the Ballet Twins becoming engulfed by a Companion Hollow of one of the original great Hollows, Lemnian[5]. The Nette sisters, after being trapped inside the building during the expansion of the Hollow, eventually mutated and became the Twin Marionettes[6].
The sudden downfall of the Ballet brothers and their business empire spawned many rumours, with one such legend stating that the brothers had initially made a pact with a Golden Bangboo that could control people's fortunes, only for it to curse them after they ignored their end of the deal[7]. With the Twin Marionettes and other Ethereals such as Ahriman, which resembles a statue when idle, roaming the halls of the abandoned buildings, the Ballet Twins also became known as one of the most famous spooky and haunted spots within New Eridu.
In recent times, the Ballet Twins Hollow shrunk, allowing parts of the towers to be visible from outside, prompting some wealthy investors to attempt to purchase the buildings, however none of these deals came to fruition[8]. One such potential investor and interested party hired Victoria Housekeeping Co. to investigate the towers under the guise of maintaining it.
Despite the apparent danger the buildings still possess, many individuals have attempted expeditions into the Ballet Twins, allured by the riches still hidden within.
