The world of Zenless Zone Zero features many locations, some accessible in-game while others are not. This page lists the different types of locations.
Area[]
Areas can be accessed through the Map and traveled to in-game. Each Area contains Points of Interest that function as teleportation points.
Mentioned Areas[]
These areas are mentioned in lore and may be briefly visited or shown in-game, but are otherwise not accessible. Some examples are The Chasm and Old Oil Field.
Cities[]
Cities are urban settlements with a variety of inhabitants: humans, Thirens, and Intelligent Constructs. Currently, New Eridu is the last surviving city in the world after the Hollow Zero disaster. It was preceded by and rebuilt from Eridu, also known as the old capital.
City Quarters[]
Though New Eridu is considered to be one city, it contains several districts of its own that cover wide ranges of land. Each city quarter has its own police commander, who is elected by the district's residents.[1]
Regions[]
Regions are large areas of the world that contain multiple in-game Areas. These are listed in the sidebar of the Map, above their respective group of Areas. Some regions are city quarters, while others such as Waifei Peninsula and the Outer Ring are more geographically defined.
Some regions may be considered part of a specific city quarter despite being geographically separated. On the topographical map, Waifei Peninsula is a region of land separated from Throne Quarter by the ocean, but it has been stated multiple times that Waifei Peninsula is considered part of Throne Quarter and presumably falls under its jurisdiction.[2][3]
