Ray's Research Log can be accessed by speaking to Ray at Scott Outpost: Outpost Interior after unlocking access to Hollow Zero.
The research log acts as both an informational database, and a reward system for accomplishing certain tasks within Hollow Zero.
Lost Void[]
Explorer's Badge[]
The main informational section for the Investigation Strategies used in the Lost Void. Investigation Strategies are set buffs that the player begins with. Once requirements are met, they will obtain an Explorer's Badge for that particular Strategy.
Gear Database[]
The main informational section for the Gear that can be acquired within the Lost Void, which enable a specific Agent to upgrade their attacks of buff the squad as a whole. The latter type usually can be levelled up once enough Resonia of that type is collected. Once players have acquired a particular Gear for the first time, the Gear's description and information will be available to review from this database.
Resonium Database[]
The main informational section for the Resonia that can be acquired within the Lost Void. Resonia are collectible items that buff the player's squad. Collecting enough of the same type can level up Gear. Once players have acquired a particular Resonium for the first time, the Resonium's description and information will be available to review from this database.
Card Database[]
The main informational section for the Cards that can be acquired within the Lost Void. Similar to (Artifice) Resonium, they usually come with buffs and debuffs. Once players have acquired a particular Card for the first time, the Card's description and information will be available to review from this database.
Unofficial Guide[]
The Unofficial Guide is a collection of bits of conversational lore that can be acquired upon completing certain achievements within the Lost Void.
Withered Domain[]
Resonium Database[]
The main informational section for the Resonia that can be acquired within the Withered Domain. Resonia are collectible items that buff the player's squad. Once four or eight Resonia of the same type are acquired, they will create an Advanced Resonium or Advanced Resonium II, which have stronger effects. Once players have acquired a particular Resonium for the first time, the Resonium's description and information will be available to review from this database.
Corruption Research[]
The main informational section for the Corruptions that can be sustained in the Withered Domain. Corruptions are debuffs that accumulate as the player travels, and through certain events. Once four Corruptions are sustained at the same time, the fifth corruption will be a Max Corruption, which significantly buffs the final boss and may inflict stronger debuffs. Once players have sustained a particular Corruption for the first time, the Corruption's description and information will be available to review from this database.
Special Area Log[]
The main informational section for the Special Areas that can be found in the Withered Domain. Special Areas are sub-areas that can be encountered within the Withered Domain, which can provide various rewards. Many Special Areas have unique mechanics or environmental hazards that players must deal with before receiving their rewards. Once players have found a Special Area for the first time, the Special Area's description and information will be available to review from this database.
Lost Items from the Old Capital[]
A repository of unique items that can be acquired from various sources within Hollow Zero, often providing glimpses into the lives of the people who delved inside Hollow Zero both past and present. After completing Qualification Assessment, players may randomly encounter event choices that lead to acquiring Lost Items which once obtained, are added to Ray’s Research Log. Lost Items are grouped into Archives, which cover a particular group or event. Once all the Lost Items in an Archive have been found, players can unlock a special Commission which can be completed for various rewards.
