- (Talk to Sage in a Barrel)
- (It's quiet inside the trash can. The creature inside seems to be taking a rest.)
(Kick it)- Sage in a Barrel: Hey, isn't it a bit early for the trash pickup? Who's making all that racket so early in the morning?!
- Sage in a Barrel: Oh, it's you again? Are you here to exchange HIA Commemorative Coins for my secrets?
- Sage in a Barrel: I've got all sorts of knowledge about the Hollows and all kinds of rare items... You'll find everything right here!
- Sage in a Barrel: If you've got any Commemorative Coins, just toss them to me. You won't be disappointed.
- Sage in a Barrel: You're not here to trade? So, you've come to... say hello? Is that all?

- (Talk to Sage in a Barrel)
- Sage in a Barrel: Hey, it's me. We've met again.
- Sage in a Barrel: What brings you to Lumina Square?
Just running some errands.
- Sage in a Barrel: "Errands"? Well, I often wonder why everyone in this city has to be so busy with errands. Staying alive itself doesn't have to be so tiring and troublesome...
I'm the one who wants to ask questions here...
- Sage in a Barrel: Is it really weird that a trash can runs around the city? I go wherever I'm needed. That's just how the universe works.
- Sage in a Barrel: Looks like you already know this place pretty well. I bet you've found some shiny stuff here, too.
- Sage in a Barrel: They might not look exactly like the ones you're familiar with, but I'll accept them.
- Sage in a Barrel: Bring me any HIA Commemorative Coins you run into... as they won't do you any good anyway.
- Sage in a Barrel: Well, thanks for your hard work... Oh, it wasn't that hard, you say? Well, you must be at least more hard-working than I am, that's for sure.
Ask about the collection progress- Sage in a Barrel: It'd be cool if I could get X more commemorative coins... This page in my collection will be complete.
- Sage in a Barrel: You're still collecting commemorative coins for me, right?
I need some clues...
- Sage in a Barrel: Good, asking for help is a good trait for youngsters... If only I had known that before everything went downhill...

Blazewood[]
- (Talk to Sage in a Barrel)
- Sage in a Barrel: Don't look so surprised. Trash cans are a necessity everywhere...
Not surprised at all.
- Sage in a Barrel: ...Can't you just play along?
Didn't expect to bump into you again.
- Sage in a Barrel: Of course, I am everywhere, or what would the world become? ...It terrifies me to imagine that.
- Sage in a Barrel: You know what I want from you, right?
- Sage in a Barrel: Exactly... What New Eridu scraps, the Outer Ring uncovers. I'm talking treasures hiding in plain sight...
- Sage in a Barrel: Those rare commemorative coins.... You're a pro at searching for them, right?
- Sage in a Barrel: Hand them over... and I'll grant what you want in return.

- Sage in a Barrel: Why aren't the people in New Eridu hyped about the Outer Ring? There're so many hidden treasures out here that I even want to start collecting something else...
Tell me clues about the commemorative coins.- Sage in a Barrel: As you said, those who always chase what they want end up losing it all. I've known that since long ago...

Port Elpis[]
- (First interaction)
- Sage in a Barrel: I might smell a little different, but I'm still the same old...
(Pinch your nose)
(Take two steps back)- Sage in a Barrel: What do you mean by that?
- Sage in a Barrel: Granted, being here might make it... hard to keep things together when it comes to how I smell.
- Sage in a Barrel: But that only goes to show the importance of my vigil here.
- Sage in a Barrel: ...You aren't listening.
- Sage in a Barrel: Alright! How do you plan on giving me what I want?
- Sage in a Barrel: Lucky coins with a trace of ocean scent... You know where to find those, right?
- Sage in a Barrel: I'm ready to exchange "gifts" with you, just like before... We both get what we want.
- Sage in a Barrel: The port, the sea, seagulls, and waves... After living inland for so long, the seaside really cleanses my spirit... I feel like my capacity's increased.
Tell me clues about the commemorative coins.- (Continue to one of the following)
- Sage in a Barrel: Discovered anything new lately? Like those round, shiny things that are always being given out as a gift...?
If you don't have any, you can just bring me some fries.
(Submit Commemorative Coin)
Tell me about the current collection situation.- Sage in a Barrel: Help me find another X commemorative coins so I can complete my collection.

- Sage in a Barrel: Hmm... I don't have anything in stock for now. Come back later.
Trivia[]
- Sage in a Barrel is likely a reference to the Greek philosopher Diogenes, founder of Cynicism, who reportedly lived in a ceramic jar and begged for a living.
- The drawing of a dog in front of a barrel pasted on the trashcan is another reference to Diogenes, as the Cynics derived their name from (Greek: κυνικός kynikós) "dog-like," due to their simple, animal-like lives.
- Sage in a Barrel will hop to turn toward the player should they move in his vicinity. It is possible for him to rotate nearly 180 degrees at his location in Sixth Street.
