Etymology[]
- The Chinese title of this Exclusive Channel is taken from the first verse of the poem 代白頭吟 Dài Báitóu Yín by writer Bao Zhao, who lived during the Northern and Southern Dynasties period. This verse in particular prescribes that a person of ideals and integrity must be as upright as a red silk rope. Notably, the adjective to describe the rope's crimson color is the same character as Zhu Yuan's surname (朱 Zhū).
- This title is thus parallel to Qingyi's Exclusive Channel Untainted Jade, with which it completes the poem's first couplet 直如朱絲繩，清如玉壺冰 zhí rú zhū sī shéng, qīng rú yù hú bīng.
