Look for the suspicious man at Ballet Twins[]

Icon Commission Commission Description

A mysterious man has appeared at Ballet Twins, claiming to have journeyed from a distant land. He seems to be promoting his work. Go see what this is all about...
(Idle)
Zi Xu: Why is no one paying attention to me...
(Talk to Zi Xu)
Zi Xu: Don't miss out! Novelist Zi Xu has come from distant lands to bring you a unique storytelling experience.
Zi Xu: Sick of the same old routine and craving something fresh? Don't wanna just be a quiet reader anymore? Why not take the reins and give it a shot?
Zi Xu: A whole new vibe, a whole new plot... and most importantly, let's create something one-of-a-kind together!
Icon Dialogue Talk Hey there...
Icon Dialogue Talk Excuse me...

Zi Xu: Oh, dear guest, wanna jump into my new narrative experience? But hold up. I should say I'm not a new customer any more, so I can't help you with any discounts.
Icon Dialogue Talk Huh?
Icon Dialogue Talk I'm not looking for someone to help me get discounts...
Zi Xu: Oh, so that's not what you're after? Sorry, I think I'm getting a bit paranoid...
Zi Xu: It's just because I've been here forever, but the few folks who came up to me either wanted me to help them sign up as new users for discounts or just handed me flyers.
Zi Xu: It's kinda weird. Do people really not like my ideas? Or are they just getting bored with "stories"?
Icon Dialogue Talk I love stories!
Zi Xu: You like stories? That's awesome! You must also be excited for stories written in novel ways, right?
Icon Dialogue Talk There are just so many boring ones out there.
Zi Xu: I see, boring stories can totally be like poison, right? But trust me, this time you're really gonna like it.
Zi Xu: You know, how a story is told is critical, and that's what makes it different from just an "event." Even the same event can feel totally different if you switch up the order.
Zi Xu: What I wanna get you involved in is a story written in a totally new way, which I call "interactive storytelling." I kick things off with the beginning, and then you get to choose how it goes, which might even change the whole story...
Icon Dialogue Talk Sounds kinda familiar.
Zi Xu: Does it? You might think it's like a game, but I see some differences. The big thing is, my story is all about the "words."
Icon Dialogue Talk Isn't that basically just a game?
Zi Xu: Game? Yeah, I can see how you'd think that. But I still think there's a difference. The main thing is that, unlike games, my story is purely told through "words."
Zi Xu: But honestly, I've picked up a lot from games. If literature can influence games and movies, why can't it be influenced by them too?
Icon Dialogue Talk You've got a point there.
Icon Dialogue Talk Games and literature, huh?
Zi Xu: So yeah, I'm a novelist, but my book sales are about as empty as my pen name. I've realized my stories might not grab people because they don't have enough reader — or should I say co-author — input.
Zi Xu: So I thought, what if I let readers actually be real authors? Not just interpreting my words, but really getting into the writing process. That's why I stepped outta my comfort zone to find partners.
Icon Dialogue Talk That's a nice way to put it, but...
Icon Dialogue Talk You just want inspiration, right?
Zi Xu: Haha, if that's how you wanna see it, sure! But I really think stories created this way won't just be mine. I'm here to make something different.
Zi Xu: By the way, have you heard of Waifei Peninsula?
Icon Dialogue Talk Waifei Peninsula?
Icon Dialogue Talk What's that?
Zi Xu: I come from Waifei Peninsula, and honestly, it's a killer spot for novelists. There's so much contrast — up and down, inside and out, clean and messy... It's got busy streets, an escape from reality, and something... something unique.
Icon Dialogue Talk Sounds like a cool place.
Icon Dialogue Talk I'm kinda curious!
Zi Xu: Haha, it's definitely a magnet for visitors, but it's just my everyday life. I wanted something different, so I left my hometown looking for new ideas.
Zi Xu: You could say that... If you wanna check out new stories and experience a different life, go explore other places! I think Waifei Peninsula could be a solid choice for you.
Icon Dialogue Talk If I get the chance!
Icon Dialogue Talk If the shop isn't too busy!
Zi Xu: Anyway, I've blabbed on just to invite you to help me finish this story. The title is "A Tale Through the Looking Glass," which sounds kinds mysterious, right? Does it spark your interest?
Zi Xu: There's a saying that "the author is dead," and isn't that an invite for readers to jump in? So, how about joining my story and helping me wrap it up, turning it into "our" story?
Icon Dialogue Event Very well!
Icon Dialogue Talk Let me handle a few things first.
(Exits dialogue)
(Talk to Zi Xu again)
Zi Xu: So, what do you think? Ready to help me finish "our" story?
Icon Dialogue Event Sure!
Icon Dialogue Talk Just give me a sec.
(Exits dialogue)

Listen to Zi Xu's reflections on the story[]

Icon Commission Commission Description

The story has come to its conclusion, just like every story does. Yet every ending signifies the beginning
of another tale...
(Talk to Zi Xu)
Zi Xu: So, are you happy with this story? I'm really stoked. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been able to write something like this. Thanks a ton!
Icon Dialogue Talk I'm happy with it too.
Icon Dialogue Talk It's okay I guess!
Zi Xu: Seeing your love for the story we made together makes me really happy. Maybe we'll cross paths again with each other's stories, or maybe this is the only time our lives will intersect...
Icon Dialogue Talk We'll meet again.
Icon Dialogue Talk The future is truly unpredictable.
Zi Xu: Maybe. But whether we meet again or not, this memory is real and will stick around. I wrote this story down here and I'm giving it to you as a keepsake!
A breeze dragged the paper from Zi Xu's hand, and it drifts onto the ground.
You bend down to grab it, but when you look up, the guy is just gone, like he was never there.
The novelist who called himself Zi Xu is nowhere to be found... Was that all just a dream I had at the Ballet Twins?
Well, the place is known for being haunted in urban legends.
But the paper in your hand is definitely real...
